About the opportunity- Part time role commencing asap.- Based at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg.- Provide care for patients in the Emergency Department.- Responsible for direct care of patients in the Emergency Department and teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.- Positions are suitable for Fellows of Emergency Medicine or Obstetrics and Gynaecology.- Employment terms as per the Australian Medical Association (Victoria) Senior Medical Specialist Certified Agreement.
The Mercy Hospital for Women is one of 4 tertiary obstetrics and gynaecology centres in Victoria.
The Emergency Department provides direct primary clinical care of women with acute obstetric and gynaecological problems and newborns with a range of neonatal conditions within a 24-hour service. The total number of presentations per year is approximately 17,000. The service undertakes extensive liaison and co-ordination with varying departments within the hospital, including labour ward, High Dependency Unit, Gynae oncology, Early Pregnancy Assessment Service and general gynaecology and lactation departments.
You will be working with a committed team of midwives and junior medical staff, many of whom are on the RANZCOG training program.
The role includes both supervision and training of junior staff as well as direct patient care.
The right person will be keen to make a difference in womens health care, but further upskilling is also available in obstetrics, and in early pregnancy management and ultrasound.
About You- Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).- Fellowship RANZCOG OR ACEM.- Highly developed and up to date clinical and theoretical knowledge.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people at all levels and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
