Spatial Services is responsible for the collection, management and distribution of spatial information and services for NSW. Spatial Services is headquartered in Bathurst NSW with offices in several regional areas as well as Sydney and other metropolitan areas.

As a GIS Specialist, you will work as part of the Administrative Spatial Programs (ASP) team. This is a multidisciplinary team that sources, maintains and presents foundation spatial data primarily related to transport, features of interest, and addressing. The role involves collation and quality assurance of data and requires highly developed spatial skills and knowledge of diverse GIS datasets.

**Your day-to-day responsibilities will include**:

- Working as a senior member of the ASP team providing spatial products and services to satisfy customer requirements.
- Undertaking spatial database administration, maintenance, and quality assurance.
- Liaising and working with other teams.
- Identifying business improvement opportunities and driving innovation.
- Performing high end spatial analysis to create or enhance datasets and support time critical operations.
- Communicating with staff and customers regarding operational advice and support.
- Providing guidance and advice to other staff.
- Preparation and maintenance of high-end technical documentation.
- Relevant qualifications and/or extensive knowledge and experience in spatial data and spatial information management.
- Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing environments and priorities.
- The ability to solve problems and collaborate with others towards a common vision.
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in spatial information management.

Salary Grade 07/08, with the base salary for this role starting at $106025 base plus superannuation
