Surveillance Officer

Salary: $74,082 - $86,240 p.a. plus 10.5% Super
- Fixed Term, 5-month Contract

**About the role**
This is a **5-month**, **fixed term, full-time **position working **35 hours** per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm) and will be based at **the Nowra Administration Building**.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager - District Engineer - North, the focus of this position is to:

- Provide effective site representation as Council Officer across a range of projects to assist in the delivery of quality works and services.
- Assist the District team in the delivery of small projects including the direct management of contract works.
- Assist in the delivery of projects through undertaking routine monitoring of technical, quality, environment and work health and safety compliance.
- Surveillance of works on behalf of the Project Engineer and take appropriate action to ensure conformance by the contractor with contract specifications.
- Ensure applicable Legislative requirements on-site are fulfilled by Contractors undertaking works for Council.

**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

- Certificate IV in Construction, Project Management, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience in the construction industry
- Demonstrated experience in a range of construction and/or maintenance delivery functions including contract surveillance
- Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
- Minimum NSW Class C driver’s licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
- Proof of right to work in Australia
