Front End Supervisor

**Daily tasks and responsibilities**:

- Determines number of registers needed to accommodate members and maintain productivity. Coordinates employee breaks, lunches, and side tasks. Asks for help from other departments when necessary.
- Arranges register fund increases and change orders, delivers lock-up merchandise, verifies prices, approves checks, assists with cashier questions, overrides register system flags and corrects problems to enable smooth flow of members through the lines.
- Drafts and participates in presentation of performance reviews. Interviews prospective employees and makes recommendations to managers for further interviews.
- Observes employee performance and paperwork to determine that proper department procedures are followed. Provides training, encouragement, advice and feedback to Front End employees.
- Carries out and ensures employee participation in Front End Manager’s plans for special promotions and increasing department productivity.
- Performs cashiering, boxing, and other front end duties as necessary, upholding safety and security procedures.
- Assists members with questions and problems regarding merchandise, membership, payment or service to provide prompt and courteous member service.
- Performs support duties for Front End management team. Schedules employees, makes supply orders, arranges for equipment maintenance and repair, tracks employee errors, oversees member service crew, and coordinates and tracks safety training and merchandise return audits.

**Non-Essential Functions and Tasks**:

- Assists other areas in the department as required.
- Assists in other areas of the warehouse as required.

- Record of Satisfactory Job Performance - Demonstrates satisfactory job performance in a position of leaders hip as indicated on the most recent review through positive demonstration of Costco’s Success Behaviors, and by a file free from counselling notices related to job performance. Has a proven history of leadership/management ability.
