**Job Requirements**

You'll need to be compassionate, patience, empathetic with strong listening and great communication skills to be successful. A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support and care to young children with ADHD and Autism, ensuring their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being at all times.
- Implement individualized care plans and support strategies tailored to the specific needs of each child, in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Assist children in developing and practicing essential life skills, such as communication, social interaction, self-regulation, and daily routines.
- Create and maintain a structured and engaging environment that supports the child's learning and development, while considering their sensory needs and preferences.
- Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to encourage appropriate behavior and manage challenging behaviors.
- Support children in participating in educational and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors, to promote their physical, cognitive, and social development.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on the child's progress, achievements, and any concerns or observations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of the child's daily activities, progress, and any incidents or observations, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child's care, such as therapists, educators, and healthcare providers, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role, specifically with young children with ADHD and Autism.
- Solid understanding of ADHD and Autism spectrum disorders in young children, including their impact on behavior, communication, sensory processing, and developmental milestones.
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions, strategies, and approaches for supporting the development and well-being of young children with ADHD and Autism.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanor to build trusting relationships with young children and create a supportive environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the child's care.
- Ability to adapt support strategies and techniques based on individual needs and developmental stages.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills to identify challenges, implement appropriate interventions, and provide feedback to the child's support team.
- Flexibility in working hours and willingness to accommodate the unique needs and schedules of young children and their families.
- Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks including employment, home support and community access.
- Support clients to access activities and outings in the community.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of the clients and report any concerns to the Manager.
- Report regularly to manager
- Actively contribute to a team environment through open communication, participation in regular staff meetings, planning processes and policy review.
- Problem solving and stress management skills.

**License/Certification**:

- **Certificate IV in disability (required)**:

- NDIS Worker Screen check (required)
- Current National Criminal History Check (Not less than six months old) (required)
- First Aid & CPR (required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Induction Modules (required)
- Full drivers license (required)
- Working with Children Check - Employer (required)
- Infection Control Training - COVID 19 (required)
- Fully vaccinated (three doses which includes the booster dose) - mandatory.
