Ecologist - Perth

As part of the continued growth and innovation of our ecology and approvals service, ERM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to join our global consulting firm.

As a member of this successful team, you will act as an ecologist based in Perth focusing on biodiversity impact assessment and approvals and will include ecological impact assessments under the WA State and Commonwealth jurisdictions.

Consulting experience is preferred, however if you have experience working in a related industry such as local government, revegetation, land management, conservation, or education we would like to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and/or undertake field based botanical surveys and/or provide field support for fauna surveys.- Prepare ecological reports such as impact assessments, targeted species surveys, Conservation Management Plans, and offset strategies in line with current guidelines.- Manage projects and build client relationships with a demonstrated high level of professionalism.- Contribute to the development of proposals, including field programs and budgets.- Perform project delivery activities including but not limited to field surveys, literature reviews, report writing, and developing recommendations for clients.- Prepare proposals, including development of scopes and cost estimates, and participate in business development with existing clients.- Work on multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables and timely delivery of reports.- Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, landowners, Indigenous communities, and clients during field activities, as required.- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees worldwide.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Bachelor’s Degree Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Zoology, or related field.- 3-5 years’ experience in Ecology.- Environmental assessment experience.- Expertise with Federal and State regulations and guidelines pertaining to survey methodologies and environmental assessments.- Experience with biodiversity offsets in WA and Australia- Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.- Ability to follow directions and take initiative when required.- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
