Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking an Orderly to join our Theatre team on a Full-time basis. You will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and achieving high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction, in this faced paced and varied environment.

**About us**
Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

**As an Orderly in Theatres your responsibilities will include**:

- Cultivating a hospitable and friendly environment for all patients
- Patient Assistance and transfers including the use of lifting machine and bed movers
- Maintain and clean theatre equipment
- General housekeeping duties e.g. cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management
- Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
- Liaise within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring patient and staff safety
- Sound knowledge of theatre equipment and safe use practices
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Process organisational skills and complete documentation to a high standard

**Essential Criteria**:

- Authority to Work in Australia
- Prior Experience working in a hospital environment as an Orderly, PSA or Wardsperson
- Valid Working with Children check
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care
- Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Works well independently and within a team
