Newly created leadership role - opportunity to impact change
- Drive value and set procurement strategy across the Group
- Influence, engage and collaborate
This well-established privately owned business has had recent growth in Australia and NZ with continued growth targeted. Priding themselves on providing the agricultural industry with a range of innovative, world-class quality products with a strong brand and consultative solutions, they are known for their customer centricity. Working at the starting point of the food production cycle, this organisation now has the need for the newly created role of Commercial and Procurement Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with a focus on growth in both its key areas as well as exploration into new and emerging markets. Due to the geographically dispersed locations of their facilities, offices and teams, this role can be based anywhere near a major airport, however ideally Brisbane, Auckland or Toowoomba.
Reporting to the CFO this role will drive value via implementation of Group-wide procurement processes. You will oversee and manage the Group’s key commercial/legal contracts and will be involved in contract management and negotiation, property management and facility maintenance along with ensuring compliance to all contractual terms.
**Key elements of the role include**:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy and annual contracts plan aligned with the Group’s goals and objectives.
- Working alongside functional leads, cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors as well as identify and evaluate potential new suppliers via tender processes as required.
- Liaise with legal advisers to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and other stakeholders that are clear, compliant, and mitigate risks for the Group.
- Oversee the management of contracts to ensure adherence of key terms and conditions and to ensure compliance or inconsistencies are identified across key contracts between the Company and a third party.
- Implement strategies to optimise spending and reduce procurement related costs and ensure procurement budgets are developed, expenses are monitored, and cost-savings opportunities are identified.
- Using supplier segmentation, categorisation, and spend analysis, develop strategic sourcing and other procurement processes for market engagements to control expenditure, increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Collaborate and build relationships across all internal departments, and in particular, partner with the Group’s Risk and Sustainability Manager to identify and mitigate potential procurement-related risks.
- Your experience should include an agricultural background such as agricultural commodities, raw ingredients for food manufacturing, dairy, food additives, or other raw agricultural or commercialised lab-based food commodities.
- Ideally, you will possess a relevant Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
- You should have demonstrable experience in developing strategic supplier partner relationships with exceptional negotiation, contract management and influencing skills.
- Your decision-making approach should be data-driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Substantial travel through ANZ will be required in year one. If you are not located in Brisbane, Auckland or Toowoomba, a work-from-home scenario would be required.
