**About the Role**

The role will see you responsible for the field supervision, organisation and management of labour within their direct work group to ensure that all work is delivered on schedule and to required quality and client specifications. To be successful in this position you’ll utilise your previous experience in supervising multidiscipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Rigger/Scaff) trade teams.

The Port Kembla Steelworks has achieved Responsible Steel certification, which recognises the sustainability of the operations across several indicators, including social, environmental and governance. The Steelworks is only the fourth steelmaker in the world to receive this certification and the first steelmaking site accredited in the Asia Pacific **AND WE WANT YOU TO BE A PART OF IT** by joining **_Ventia._**

**What you will need**:

- Australian Recognised Trade Qualification - Mechanical
- Cert 4 Leadership & Management (Highly Desirable)
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
- High Risk Licenses (Highly Regarded)
- Leadership capabilities

**Skills & Experience**
- Manage a multidiscipline team of blue-collar resources as their supervisor.
- Responsible for multidiscipline construction activities (rigging, mechanical, welding, electrical, instrumentation, lifting, scaffolding, as required).
- Demonstrate safety leadership.
- Ensure that safe and ethical working practices are carried out.
- Assist with work pack creation.
- Provide shift progress reporting / actively monitor work progress.
- Liaison with operations personnel to ensure permits are being issued and participate in the timely resolution of any issues in this space.
- Participate to Pre-Job / toolbox meetings, as required.
- Understanding of Project completion systems and close out documentation / processes.
- Ensure all work scopes are completed as detailed in the work packs.
- Complete sketches for additional fabrication works and assist in the identification and preparation of construction related change requests.

For more than 20 years, V**_entia_** has had a longstanding relationship with BlueScope in the Illawarra Region of New South Wales, providing plant maintenance, engineering and project services and a skilled workforce for numerous BlueScope projects, as well as fabrication facilities. We have recently renewed our contract with BlueScope for maintenance services with the addition of fire services at BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steel Works.
