**About the Role**

As a Ward Clerk, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to patients and their families within our **Day Oncology** Unit. You will also assist the non-clinical and clinical teams by coordinating any necessary clerical requirements and other tasks as directed.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00-16.30

Key responsibilities of this job include:

- Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments.
- Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward promptly and courteously.
- Work alongside medical staff, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients.
- Compilation and management of patient admission papers and clinical notes.

You will have exceptional time management skills, and the ability to work within a team and independently as required. This role calls for individuals with a strong capacity to manage a variety of tasks and priorities over the course of the work day.

You will also demonstrate:

- Proven organisational skills and a high degree of attention to detail & accuracy
- Previous experience in medical administration is essential.
- High level of computer literacy is essential.
- Experience with patient management systems will be highly regarded, ie Meditech/Charm.

**Requirements**:
Successful applicants are required to provide evidence of two Covid19 vaccinations prior to commencement by an approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation. You will also be required to provide a current National Police check and Working with Children Check, as well as proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases.
