**About the Role**

As a Ward Clerk, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to patients and their families within our **Day Oncology** Unit. You will also assist the non-clinical and clinical teams by coordinating any necessary clerical requirements and other tasks as directed.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00-16.30

Key responsibilities of this job include:

- Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments.
- Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward promptly and courteously.
- Work alongside medical staff, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients.
- Compilation and management of patient admission papers and clinical notes.

You will have exceptional time management skills, and the ability to work within a team and independently as required. This role calls for individuals with a strong capacity to manage a variety of tasks and priorities over the course of the work day.

You will also demonstrate:

- Proven organisational skills and a high degree of attention to detail & accuracy
- Previous experience in medical administration is essential.
- High level of computer literacy is essential.
- Experience with patient management systems will be highly regarded, ie Meditech/Charm.

**Requirements**:
Successful applicants are required to provide evidence of two Covid19 vaccinations prior to commencement by an approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.
