We currently have a position available for a **Mechanical Draftsman**.
**As a Mechanical Draftsman you will**,in summary, play a crucial role in the design and documentation of mechanical and structural components, collaborating with engineers, ensuring quality control, and staying updated with industry advancements. The role involves a mix of technical drawing skills, use of CAD software, collaboration, and attention to detail.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. **Design and Detailing of Civil, Mechanical, and Structural Equipment**:
- Create detailed drawings and plans for machinery and mechanical systems.
2. **Project Reporting, Updates, and Quotes**:
- Contribute to project reporting and updates by providing design-related information and progress updates.
3. **Issuing Complete Shop Packs (Models, GA Drawings, Assembly Drawings, etc.)**:
- Provide detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and other documentation as a core responsibility.
- Create comprehensive packages to guide the manufacturing and assembly processes.
4. **Carry Out QC on Civil and Fabricated Structural Equipment**:
- Be involved in quality control of fabricated structural equipment, ensuring that drawings and specifications are accurately followed.
5. **Preparing Drawings, Plans, and Designs for Mechanical Engineering Work**:
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models of products.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.
6. **Reviewing and Revising Technical Drawings and Schematics**:
- Review and revise technical drawings and schematics to incorporate changes, corrections, or improvements.
7. **Staying Up to Date with Industry Trends and Advancements**:
- Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements relevant to mechanical drafting.
8. **Collecting and Analysing Data, Carrying Out Complex Computations, and Preparing Diagrams**:
- Collect and analyse data as needed for design processes.
- Carry out complex computations and prepare diagrams to support the design work.
9. **Ensuring Designs and Finished Work Meet Specifications, Regulations, and Contract Provisions**:
- Ensure that designs and finished work adhere to specifications, industry regulations, and contract provisions.
**Qualifications**:
Suitable certification or relevant experience
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 2 years working in a similar role.
- Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and all CAD software required for the position.
**Skills**:
- Expertise in data and problem analysis, creative problem solving and design thinking.
- Good communication skills, including a high proficiency in the English language both verbal and written.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
**Salary**: From $112,778.00 per year
