Carlisle, Australia Chorus Full time

An innovative approach to home care and community belonging

NON - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Remunerated

ABOUT US

Chorus is a leading not-for-profit service provider working in the in-home care and community support sector, with a focus on aged care, mental health, disability services, and volunteering.

Created out of a successful three-way merger of profit-for-purpose businesses in 2016, since 2021 we have radically changed our operating model to be a network of small, localised and empowered teams supported by a flat, agile enabling structure. In addition, we operate a number of social enterprises that complement both our local services and business sustainability.

We have delivered these changes in pursuit of our purpose: enabling local communities to thrive.

The Chorus Board has recently adopted a new strategic plan charting a course through our third major transformation, in which we build on our novel model and service provider roots to become a true connector of communities.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Chorus Board is going through a renewal process, and we seek skilled Non-Executive Directors to join the Chorus Board.

The new Directors will integrate with a well-established Board and bring attributes aligned to the next chapter of our journey. In particular, we are keen to meet potential Directors who would add skills and experience in any of these domains:

- Community development and engagement
- Organisational design and development, culture, people,
- Social entrepreneurship, investment, commercial acumen, and growth
- Digital innovation, digital product management and technology partnerships

In addition, we are keen to expand the diversity of the Chorus Board, so welcome interest from a wide range of people. As a community-centred organisation, we welcome people with the capacity and willingness to share perspectives linked to the experiences of customers, employees, volunteers, and other local partners and stakeholders.

The Chorus Board is committed to the highest levels of integrity, and to ensuring Directors fully engage with their duties and meet all compliance expectations. Board experience and relevant formal qualifications will be viewed favourably, but we also have the ability to include people with less experience and a willingness to learn.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Directors will be required to have or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening check and a Director Identification Number.
