We are seeking an experienced Land Acquisition Officer to join our Business Services and Assurances division to play a vital role in securing Hunter Water's future property interest.

***The Opportunity**

As the Land Acquisition Officer you will be responsible for securing Hunter Water’s property interests relating to capital or developer works through the acquisition of licences, easements or freehold land.

**What you'll do**:

- Engage with impacted landholders and their representatives as primary contact for capital land matters
- Assist Project Managers with property requirements throughout all project stages including budgetary forecasts and process timelines
- Prepare, issue and renew licence/lease agreements for the property portfolio
- Negotiate compensation with landholders and valuers
- Liaise with surveyors and solicitors in registering property interests accurately and promptly including resolution of requisitions
- Research property matters, including native title and Aboriginal Land Claims.

**What you'll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Formal qualifications in a Legal/Conveyancing or Property discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a property management environment covering access rights and/or acquisition processes
- Knowledge of public and private sector Real estate practices
- Working knowledge of statutes governing land
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating property transactions

***Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience in land sales, acquisitions, easements, leases, interpreting surveys, valuations and conveyancing documentation.
- Demonstrated Project Management experience in either Construction or property areas.
- Infrastructure or utilities experience
