**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Strategic Communications team sit within Council’s Corporate Performance Directorate and is responsible for providing high quality media and communications services to all stakeholders including our community, Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team and Council staff.

The team provides timely advice and assistance to internal and external customers on a range of communications functions including content creation and design, media and public relations management, digital and social media management, marketing, advertising, promotions, print and brand management.

The Marketing and Promotions Advisor works closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation to develop, implement and measure the success of multi-channel marketing communications plans.

Reporting to the Coordinator Communications Strategy and Engagement, this position is responsible for managing Council's marketing activities and coordinating marketing channels.

The successful applicant will require:

- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or related field
- 3-5 years' experience in the area of corporate communications and marketing
- Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and measure the success of detailed marketing communication plans
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high quality marketing collateral for a range of channels, including vinyl banners, enews, online ad campaigns, foyer screens, social media.
- Demonstrated ability with brand management, design, production and implementation
- Experience managing an image gallery or digital asset management system
- Intermediate design and pre-production skills using Adobe Creative Suite or Adobe InDesign producing print, digital and social media assets
- Working knowledge of advertisement placement, booking and production.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work within strict deadlines with mínimal supervision, as well as working on multiple projects as part of a small multi-skilled team
- Demonstrated experience to solve problems using research, analysis, and evaluation of information which may not be readily available
- Demonstrated ability to make judgements or recommendations based on advanced analytical or creative thought
- Experience working with digital communications and User Experience (UX), rewriting and structuring content for publishing online, using Web Content Management System (CMS - DRUPAL preferred)
- Class C drivers licence
- Valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)

**Position information**: This is a permanent full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.

The role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,656.10 to $1,904.51 per week, plus 11% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
