Trackwork Riders

**Track work experience is essential**_.
- Exercise horses by walking, riding, leading, swimming, and attending to horses at trackwork, barrier trials, jump outs and races
- Report to Trainer on horses’ progress and performance
- Assemble, prepare, and store horse gear as directed
- Check horses for lameness, common injuries, ailments and infections and report to Foreperson
- Give first aid, medication, or other treatment to horses as directed
- Brush and groom, feed, handle, and exercise horses, and lead them to their stables
- Clean and maintain stables and training equipment, preparing, and storing bedding
- Work autonomously and as part of a team

**SKILLS REQUIRED**
- A **minimum** of 3 Years riding experience as a **Trackwork Rider**/ **Jockey**:

- Hold a Certificate III In Racing (Trackwork Rider)
- Physically Fit
- Hold a Current Australian Drivers Licence and have own vehicle
- Ability to ride Timed Pacework and Gallops
- Ability to ride and educate young horses
- Maintaining and caring for horses, including grooming and tacking up when required
- Follow instructions from the Trainer and Management
- Must be available to work 6 mornings per week
- Passionate about horse riding and caring for horses
- Reliable, Honest and Loyal with excellent communication skills

**Salary**: $48,500.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Tynong, VIC 3813: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Horse Riding: 3 years (preferred)
- working with horses: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Certificate III in Racing (Trackwork Rider) (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
