The Benefits Integrity Division comprises of around 20 sections made up of 400 officers geographically located across most states of Australia. Each section has a distinct function supporting healthcare providers and protecting the integrity of Medicare payments through education, early intervention letter campaigns, audit, professional review services and fraud investigations.
The Strategic Policy and Behavioural Insights Section within the Benefits Integrity Division is seeking someone with an interest in building or further developing a career as a statistician in the Australian Public Service under the supervision of senior statisticians. In addition, a merit list will be formed to fill any future vacancies within the division.
The Strategic Policy and Behavioural Insights section is a multidisciplinary team with expertise in a range of disciplines including psychology, economics and data science. The section has three key roles:
- evaluation of activity undertaken by the Compliance Assessment Branch to inform continuous learning and improvement
- undertake statistical modelling and analysis of the effectiveness of compliance activities in promoting sustained behaviour change.
