We are looking for a Rail Safety Manager to join our team to work on an exciting rail project in the Midland area as part of works delivering and commissioning new facilities and infrastructure for the PTA. The project includes the construction of earthworks, drainage, electrical, building and rail infrastructure. Working in metropolitan Perth, this is an exciting project for an experienced Rail Safety Manager to join our team.
- This position will play a key role in providing management and leadership on aspects of Rail Safety, Safety Management and other support systems to achieve the project's objectives.**Responsibilities include**:

- Leads the development of and coordination of Rail Safety plans and Rail works plans with the Alliance and in conjunction with the PTA and ARC Infrastructure key stakeholders.
- Provide a main point of contact role for critical shuts and be able to answer stakeholder queries.
- Establishes, monitors and maintains systems and procedures to ensure conformance to the appropriate legislation framework and applicable standards (including Rail Safety and WHS). Supports and assists the development and maintenance of the Alliance management system.
- Provides professional and technical advice and assistance to project managers on strategies, planning and systems to ensure consistency and alignment with the PTA’s directions.
- Identifies and leads opportunities and improvements to processes, procedures and policies within the Alliance to ensure continuous improvement of working practices.
- Reviews reports on safe-working, safety and irregularity incidents.
- Participate in event investigation and regulatory reporting pursuant to the National Rail Safety Law
- Coordinates and liaises with all stakeholders for all planned and unplanned project operations, to ensure that work groups are scheduled without conflict and that all parties comply with the PTA’s procedures/rules as required.
- Supports engagement on behalf of PTA and the Alliance with regulators such as ONRSR and WorkSafe.

**About You**
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Possession of a recognised safety and/or quality (or other relevant field) qualification or significant practical experience in the field.
- Certified internal auditor for Quality, Safety and Rail Safety Management Systems.
- Substantial knowledge of the Rail Safety National Law requirements and Work Health and Safety.
- Demonstrated sound understanding of the operating railway environment, particularly in a 25kV electrified railway.
- Highly developed leadership and management skills with a focus on providing sound direction and support to achieve planned outcomes.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills, including effective negotiation, consultation, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Well-developed planning and organising skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and deliver, taking into account competing deadlines.
- A minimum of holding a current PTA Supervised Worker (SW) Track Accreditation
