The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care for more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide and boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand-new facilities in the near future. NALHN provides a full range of high-quality medical, surgical, maternity, diagnostic, emergency and support services. NALHN offers a range of primary health care services across the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide, with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community, and transition and hospital substitution and avoidance programs targeted at chronic disease and frail aged.

The Northern Adelaide Rehabilitation Service (NARS) provides:

- Inpatient Rehabilitation - 52 beds Modbury Hospital
- Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) - 30 virtual community ‘beds’
- Day Rehabilitation Service (DRS)
- Northern Adelaide Pain Rehabilitation Service
- Specialist outpatient clinics (including spasticity clinics, driving assessment, orthotics/ prosthetics clinics, and hydrotherapy)

At NALHN Everyone Has a Story, Everyone Matters, Everyone Contributes and Everyone Grows. Consistent with our values we are seeking a values based Rehabilitation Consultant to join our highly skilled Aged Care, Rehabilitation & Palliative Care team.

As the Consultant / Staff Specialist you will contribute to the provision of high standard clinical services to patients of and referred to the Northern Adelaide Rehabilitation Service. Rehabilitation physician consultation services are provided to inpatient, ambulatory and outpatients of Riverland General Hospital (Berri), Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) and Wallaroo Hospital, Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN). In this role you will contribute to teaching/training at undergraduates and postgraduate levels and participate in research.

Services will be provided across NALHN and include visits, videoconferencing, and teleconferences to rural South Australia including Riverland General Hospital (RMCLHN) and Wallaroo Hospital (YNLHN).

To be eligible for this position you are required to hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. It is highly desirable to hold an MD or PhD or other higher degree in Rehabilitation Medicine and Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM) or an equivalent specialist qualification in Rehabilitation Medicine registrable with the Medical Board of Australia in 2013 as a specialist.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
