- About the Role
- The primary focus of the position is to project manage “Voices for Palliative care”: This project undertaken within the Palliative Care Research Network (PCRN) seeks to facilitate and evaluate the opportunities presented by improving patient and community engagement in palliative care, including through community-driven advocacy, collaboration in research activities, and contribution to service planning and delivery.
- A Voices for Palliative Care group, chaired by a consumer member, has been established, is early in its development and includes people from different sectors in the community. The research fellow is responsible for the facilitation of the group, providing support for meetings and facilitation of the research outcomes which will emerge as a result of the group’s activities. The research fellow is also responsible
- Project management of research project(s) associated with the Palliative Care Research Network, including recruitment, data management and data analysis.
- Direct engagement with persons involved in research and project data collection including the identification, proactive recruitment, and follow-up of persons affected by cancer and their families in clinical and community settings.
- Organisation and participation in research related activities such as focus groups and co-design workshops, research meetings with study teams, and dissemination and community events.
- Classifications for this position will range from XN9 - XN11 with an additional over award or equivalent for those staff with relevant qualifications (approx. $101k per annum pro rata)
- Your Contribution
- PhD in health or a relevant discipline
- Degree in science, psychology, General Nursing or health related discipline that meets the requirements of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Ability to undertake recruitment and data collection and analysis
- Ability to carry out literature searches using relevant databases
- Highly developed organisational and analytical skills
- Experience in liaising (either via research or professionally) with patients and/or families confronted with significant psychosocial issues
- Current National Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain
