**your opportunity**

Servicing the Hobart area and working with the Social Enterprises team, this role has responsibility for delivering on commercial contracts through leading and mentoring a team of young trainees (15-25 years) in our grounds maintenance crew. You will be outside on the tools working alongside our trainees, providing training, mentoring and undertaking projects such as mowing, mulching, weeding, soft landscaping, internal and external cleaning etc.

Our goal in Enterprises is to tackle long-term youth unemployment by providing young people with paid work experience and on-the-job training as a stepping stone to open employment. This experience is further supported with wrap around youth work and support.
- Your role will include:

- manage, mentor and train a group of young trainees
- lead by example and foster a sense of independence and wellbeing
- deliver work based program activities and achieve contractual obligations
- maintain tools and equipment
- promote a positive Workplace Health and Safety culture and ensure active compliance

**what we are looking for**

You will have the skills, experience and desire to be on the tools alongside our young people, delivering high quality projects for our customers and meeting contractual obligations. You will understand the skills and behaviours to instil in young people to support sustainable employment and will be extremely motivated and encouraging.
- You will bring:

- passion, commitment and belief in young people
- recognised industry/trade qualification
- at least 5 years relevant experience and a reputation for producing high quality work
- demonstrated knowledge of WHS requirements
- current white card and first aid certificate or ability to obtain
