CESIL House is operated by 3 families and is overseen by Supporting Independent Living Co-Operative (SILC). You will be reporting to our Executive House Manager.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly-skilled support workers to join our team in providing supported living and community access for three young ladies with Level 3 autism located in a brand new purpose-built SDA House in North Ryde.

** Have experience managing high level challenging behaviour**

** Effectively implement clinical plans to support the personal growth, skill development and health of the ladies**

** Be able to work independently**

** Contribute to the continual improvement of service delivery through insightful contributions to meetings and via excellent written skills**

** Develop candid, productive relationships with resident, parents, colleagues and clinicians.**

** Have a car and driver's license.**

As you will be assisting young women with personal care, a **female** support worker is preferred.

**The Residential Support Worker will be responsible for**:

- Supporting client with all aspects of daily living including providing care which could include supervising bathing, toileting, dressing and food preparation.
- Providing activities - eg. Craft, cooking, outings to parks, exercise, bowling, shopping, movies etc.
- Involving client with washing, cleaning, gardening and cooking
- Providing behaviour support following behaviour support plans
- Providing companionship, friendship and emotional support
- Arranging social activities
- Communicating with clients' families and day program on a regular basis.
- Transporting clients to and from day program located nearby and taking clients for outings (sometimes using your own car). A licence is essential.

**Shift Routines**:
The house operates 7 days a week with varied shifts.

**We are currently looking for a casual to fill some Friday - Sunday shifts, both sleepover and Day Program.**

**Availability to fill additional shifts when required an advantage**

**Weekday shifts may include**:

- Arrive on shift at 3.30 pm to drive to Gladesville to pick up residents from day program
- Organise afternoon activity
- Meal preparation
- Assist with personal care such as bathing and bedtime preparation
- Ensuring medication is taken
- Sleepover (10 pm - 6 am)
- Morning preparation and breakfast
- Personal care
- Washing & tidying up
- Transporting resident to day program at Gladesville

**Cesil House also operates a Day Program for the ladies on Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays and their external day program closure days. We also run monthly staff meetings where training is provided and attendance is essential.**

**Skills/Attributes**
- **Display a caring, calm, patient and resilient demeanour**:

- **Background in mental health and/or challenging behaviours essential**:

- **Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience**:

- **Driver's license essential**:

- **Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually**:

- **Ongoing training and support will be provided so we are looking for long term employees who can give at least a 2 year commitment**:

- **Must be triple vaccinated for COVID 19**:

- Display a creative and energetic approach supporting clients in the home and community
- Effectively implement positive behaviour support plans for challenging behaviours
- Initiate daily operational tasks within the house including cooking, cleaning and washing
- Enjoyment of music, cooking, art and craft
- Create a safe, positive and fun environment
- Demonstrate the ability to be outcome focused
- Competent communication and writing skills
- Willingness to cover various shifts when required
- Ability to attend initial training at the house and ongoing training as well as attend monthly staff meetings

**Qualifications (e.g's below)**:

- **Valid and current driver's license**:

- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Valid Criminal Record Check, Working with children check, impeccable references

Individual Flexible Agreements for all staff members. Weekday rate $49 (Casuals) plus super, Saturday $62.50 plus super, Sunday $80 plus super, non-active overnight shift 10 pm - 6 am $200 weekdays, $272 Friday & Saturday nights. **Permanent position and more hours may be offered by the end of the year. Salary packaging is available for permanent employees.**

**Please note that all breaks are waived under the Individual Flexible Agreement, for which you are compensated.**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $49.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 14 per week
