Talent International is searching for an experienced **Data Analyst** o join our client, a large state government department. This role is based in **Brisbane CBD** on a contract basis until March 2024.

**About the role**:
The purpose of this position is to define the data mapping, transformation rules and selection criteria for the migration of data to the new Dynamics 365 solution.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Determine Business data migration requirements and the target solution's data migration requirements and undertake data mapping from legacy systems to the target solution (Dynamics 365).
- Work with ETL Developers to build the data migration solution as specified in the data mapping.
- Work with Developers, Business Analysts and Business representatives to profile the data in the source systems.
- Participate in data extracts, transformations and load activities and validate the data has been migrated as specified.
- Participate in defect management activities and facilitate the resolution of data migration defects.
- Work with Business representatives to develop data reconciliation plans that will ensure the business will signoff the data migration at go-live.
- Work with the Business to execute the data reconciliation plans during trial data migrations and during cutover.
- Work with Business representatives and the Data Cleansing team to ensure data quality issues are logged and resolved.
- Manage the delivery of work to a schedule and assist in the setting and managing of expectations.
- Use high level communication skills to negotiate, establish, and maintain networks and working relationships.
- Lead and work collaboratively with a wide range of staff at all levels.
- Contribute to business integration, change management, and testing activities.
- Actively manage a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience in defining data transformation rules, defining selection criteria for data ingestion, and identifying data quality issues.
- Experience in eliciting, analysing, specifying, documenting and validating the business data needs of stakeholders.
- Experience developing reports to monitor data quality issues and track data cleansing.
- Experience in analysing data migration results to confirm they align with transformation rules, selection criteria, business data requirements and the solution's data requirements.
- Experience in working with the business to develop data reconciliation plans assist the business in executing these plans.

**Desirable requirements**
- Data and ETL experience especially with Microsoft Azure Cloud Data Platform (Azure Data Factory and Databricks).
- Ability to write complex SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures.
- Experience in developing complex reports, including consideration of complex business rules and data architecture.
