As a Child Carer (Room Leader) at the Chinese Australian Early Childhood Centre, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in our care. You will be responsible for leading a classroom and ensuring the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of the children in your room. This role requires dedication, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Assisting in the Preparation of Materials and Equipment for Children's Education and Recreational Activities:

- Collaborate with colleagues to gather and organize educational materials, supplies, and equipment required for various learning and recreational activities.
- Ensure that materials are age-appropriate and in good condition, promoting a safe and engaging environment for children.

Managing Children's Behavior and Guiding Children's Social Development:

- Implement behavior management strategies that encourage positive conduct and conflict resolution among children.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere where children can develop social skills, including sharing, communication, and cooperation.
- Address and mediate any conflicts or behavioral issues as they arise, promoting a harmonious classroom environment.

Preparing and Conducting Activities for Children:

- Design and plan educational activities that align with the curriculum and promote children's cognitive, physical, and emotional development.
- Deliver engaging lessons, maintaining the attention and participation of children while ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Entertaining Children by Reading and Playing Games:

- Create an enjoyable atmosphere by reading stories, playing educational games, and organizing recreational activities that stimulate children's imagination and creativity.
- Encourage active participation and interaction to enhance children's cognitive and social development.

Supervising Children in Recreational Activities:

- Provide vigilant supervision during playtime and recreational activities, ensuring children's safety and well-being.
- Offer guidance and support as children explore various physical activities, helping them develop coordination and motor skills.

Supervising the Daily Routine of Children:

- Establish and maintain a structured daily routine, including mealtimes, naptime, and transitions between activities.
- Ensure that children adhere to a consistent schedule that promotes their physical and emotional well-being.

Supervising the Hygiene of Children:

- Promote good hygiene practices among children, including handwashing and toileting routines.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, regularly checking and assisting with personal hygiene needs as necessary to uphold the health and comfort of the children in your care.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
- AQF Certificate II or III in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a childcare or early education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Knowledge of multicultural and bilingual education is a plus.
