**About the role**:
Powerlink is a leading provider of high voltage electricity transmission network services and with our exciting new growth are looking for a Manager Strategic and Future Network Operations to lead and manage our Team of technical experts in identifying emerging operational challenges, solutions and change programs required to ensure our Network Operations can operate the network optimally and facilitate the new energy transition throughout Queensland.

Our new Manager Strategic and Future Network Operations will support setting operational strategies, complex power systems analysis, solutions and market analysis ensuring that development of the existing and future network is able to effectively respond to the changing external environment and our customer requirements.

You will be required to deliver trusted advice on the strategic and future operation of the Queensland SuperGrid and represent the dynamics of the Queensland network in the National Electricity Market plus:

- Lead the provision of current and strategic analysis and advice on complex aspects of the operation of the transmission network.
- Drive the continual development and delivery of Powerlink’s operational strategy.
- Develop operational plans for the optimal development of the interconnected network to ensure operation meets reliability, system standards and network stability requirements.
- Implement changes in operating approaches, methods, systems and processes to facilitate the connection of new electrification load and renewable energy projects.
- Proactively build and maintain effective relationships, working collaboratively and providing advice and guidance to relevant customers and stakeholders.

**About you**:
Working collaboratively with team members, customers and stakeholders, you will enjoy variety and new challenges in your day-to-day work including complex problem solving, plus have the ability to prioritise and have a passion for providing high quality outcomes while leading a highly skilled Team to produce high performance and sustainable outcomes.

Your key to success will be your ability to effectively engage with a broad range of stakeholders and influence outcomes and support change management programs to support complex process and technical change plus;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems in transmission and/or distribution electricity network development, plus a strong understanding of the environmental factors.
- Ability to conduct strategic analysis and provide advice on complex aspects of the operation of the transmission network in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
- Proven ability to utilise Energy Management Systems and / or other technologies to model power systems including the ability to plan, analyse and operate electrical power transmission systems within an electricity market based environment.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct strategic analysis of complex power system challenges and provide succinct recommendations.

Essential requirements to the role;
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.
- Post Graduate studies in Leadership or MBA or experience in leading a highly skilled team.

Mandatory requirements and unique working conditions;
- Frequent interaction with customers and stakeholders.
- Provide occasional support outside of business hours as a result of network risks or contingencies.
- Ability to accommodate flexible working arrangements to cope with peak workloads.
