**What you'll do**
Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and quality of our products. The Technical Specialist will set safety standards, lead technical supplier relationships, and ensure legal compliance and product quality to safeguard our brand and ensure products meet high standards for our customers.
You will:

- Execute a Supplier Engagement Strategy to strengthen supplier ties and minimise category and product risks.
- Conduct risk assessments, supplier approval and audit adherence.
- Foster supplier relationships and uphold Woolworths' reputation as a top retailer and work with developers and suppliers to meet Woolworths' safety standards.
- Monitor complaints to strategize improvements with suppliers.
- Ensure products meet Specifications and Quality Attribute Sheet standards. Handle crises, especially recalls.

**What you'll bring
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Quality Management within the Food manufacturing industry, Food Retail or equivalent
- Degree or equivalent formal tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science and Technology or other related discipline
- Strong understanding of legislation and standards pertaining to the design and manufacturing of safe, legal and compliant food products (including audit standards).
- Proven crisis management skills, including recalls and root cause investigations, with effective corrective and preventative actions. Experience in product safety validation, quality verification, and conducting internal / Second Party Audits.
