You want to actively participate in shaping policies and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy adoption, and enhance the overall environmental performance of the transport network.**
**In this role, you'll**:
Be working within the Greater Sydney Division as part of the Active Transport planning team. The NSW Government wants walking and bike riding, known as Active Transport, to be the preferred way to make short trips and a safe and efficient option for longer trips.
By encouraging more people to choose walking or bike riding for everyday journeys, we will improve neighbourhoods and the environment, reduce car use and traffic congestion, support busy local economies.
This role will be instrumental in providing strategic transport planning expertise to enable the efficient delivery of a range of walking and cycling solutions. You will shape, guide, and integrate active transport planning concepts and solutions, across TfNSW and council projects.

**About you**
- You are a passionate aspiring Transport Planner with recent relevant studies in this field and a keen interest in the Active Transport landscape.
- You may already have a good understanding of transport planning and transport integration and how multi-modal solutions enhance the customer experience.
- You also may have a background in local government town planning, urban design, or engineering with a real desire to be involved in fulfilling and exciting transport planning projects, with the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders and build strong relationships across all part of Transport.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You may have some knowledge or experience planning and designing for people walking and cycling and be familiar with current best practice outcome to these groups.
