The Baden Powell Activity Centre is an Outdoor Education (OE) and recreation facility providing schools and community groups with high quality OE programs and services specialising in outdoor and expedition-based activities.

Situated on 36 hectares adjoining Lane Cove National Park, the Baden-Powell Activity Centre offers flexible training facilities, adventurous activities, and cabin-style accommodation in a tranquil bush land setting only 25 kilometres from Sydney CBD.

**Purpose of the Position**

The Grounds Keeper is fundamental in ensuring the buildings, facilities and grounds at Baden Powell Activity Centre are consistently maintained and well presented for Customers, Scouts Members, Parents, Volunteers, staff, and other visitors/ users to enjoy.

**Responsibilities & Duties**

**Maintenance**
- Regularly mow and trin lawns and edges.
- Clean debris from paths, grassed areas, flowerbeds, and all entrances.
- Weed, and water gardens.
- Liaise with the Centre Manger to prepare the grounds in response to bushfire risk in accordance with guidelines set out by the Rural Fire Service.
- Ensure drains are clear to prevent flooding over roads and pathways.
- Report damage or defects to the Centre Manager so that arrangements can be made to make repairs.
- Keep all surfaces fee of moss and weeks.
- Clean pits and drains regularly in toilet blocks.
- Ensure all outdoor areas are letter free, recycle materials where appropriate.

**Key Capabilities & Requirements**

**Qualification, Training & Experience**
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Certificate in Asset and Maintenance Management (desirable).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in gardening, grounds or asset maintenance preferably in a bush environment.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Sound judgement
- Thorough, with excellent attention to detail and care for quality.
- Vigilant, observant, and responsive.
- Excellent time management and ability to plan.

**Essential Requirements**
- Right to work in Australia
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Mandatory Training
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Drivers Licence

Pay: $31.23 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pennant Hills, NSW 2120: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Groundskeeping: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (required)
- National Police Certification (required)
- First Aid Certification (required)
- Full Driver Licence (preferred)
