They have been working with Traditional Owners caring for country in the eastern Pilbara for over a decade and have developed an ecosystem of experts, experienced consultants and trainers to deliver projects in community development, conservation, and heritage based on Aboriginal engagement principles. Their dedicated team is focused on creating opportunities to increase Aboriginal participation, transfer skills and contribute to enduring benefits for the Traditional Owners.

They work with the four biggest mining companies in Western Australia, as well as a collection of junior miners, Aboriginal organisations (PBC’s) and non-government agencies. As their agency grows, they are committed to building a talented team to make a positive impact - if you have a heart for grassroots community development this is the role for you Over the past 10 years, they have provided cultural education to over 30,000 members of Eastern Pilbara workforces working on Nyiyaparli and have successfully delivered approx. 125 projects in community development, heritage, and conservation.

As a result of the ongoing successes of the business, a new role of General Manager based in Guildford has been created to lead the Coongan team, and work with their technical capacity partners alongside of the Aboriginal community to make a positive impact.

**About the Role**
Working closely with the owners of the business, you will be provided with a comprehensive onboarding journey where you will learn all aspects of the business and the community engagement principles. With your strong business acumen and proven leadership skills, you will lead and coach multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure operational plans are delivered on time and within budget.

As General Manager you will:

- Meet organisational goals and revenue targets for: Community Impact, Projects (Heritage, Enviro & Videography) & Red Country divisions
- Ensure the provision of resources and support to enable each business area to function safely, efficiently, and profitably.
- Use your business acumen to identify new initiatives that drive revenue growth
- Manage all financials to include the P&L, budgets and staffing costs
- Identify opportunities to contribute to projects that care for the land and people
- Implement efficiencies that will make the best of resources, time and services
- Oversee and ensure employees are compliant with WH&S
- Provide exceptional customer service to all clients
- Manage the timeline and delivery of projects
- Ensure projects are completed in line with contractual requirements
- Collaborate with the Aboriginal Corporation to ensure all agreements are adhered to

**About You**
Ideally you will have an undergraduate degree in commerce, social sciences, or community development **and/or** worked in a not-for-profit organisation running multi-disciplinary teams.

Additionally, you will:

- Have experience in delivering projects on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality
- Be a strong inclusive leader with excellent communication skills
- Have overseen HR i.e. recruitment, employee relations, performance management, succession planning etc.
- Ideally be knowledgeable about Aboriginal Cultural heritage legislation
- Have sound commercial business acumen with P&L experience
- Be experienced in contract agreements
- Be experienced in successfully maintaining positive client relationships
- Ensure ensure employees are compliant with WH&S
- Be innovative by identifying efficiencies without impacting productivity levels and quality of service
- Have experience with MS Office
- Be able to travel to the Pilbara region once a month (full expenses covered)
- Have a valid Driving license
