Over the last 15 years Eptec has been the largest and leading preservation Contractor on highly demanding Naval Defence work. The HSEQ Advisor role will support the Collins Class Full Cycle Dockings project in Adelaide, which will run over the next 6 years. During this time, Eptec will provide blast services to clean submarine components and systems, ensuring their effective ongoing operation, as well as refreshing living areas including galleys, walls and ceilings to improve amenities for Royal Australian Navy crews.

**About the Role**

The HSEQ Advisor will partner with the project delivery team to improve Eptec’s HSEQ operational performance. This role is critical in influencing and negotiating cultural change to align with Eptec’s Zero Harm strategic initiatives. The main focal points of the role will include; championing the Eptec Zero Harm program to minimise injuries, unplanned occurrences, environmental harm and equipment damage, whilst promoting responsible use of resources along with the integration of the HSEQ management system

Sitting within the Defence Solutions and Infrastructure Department and reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent, this position will be based in Osborne with occasional travel required and other sites.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the development of workplace Zero Harm initiatives, and other associated operational approaches and plans.
- Facilitate and guide employees to ensure that they report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, near misses, hazardous conditions, emergencies, etc., to their supervisor.
- Participate in safe workplace reviews, including hazard identification, assessment control and monitoring.
- Coordinate inductions, training, and competency assessments for operational employees, as well as provide site-based generalist safety guidance and coaching to educate employees about injury management and return to work processes.
- Conduct incident management processes, including investigations and sustainable preventative and corrective action monitoring and implementation.
- Support solutions and process modifications that eliminate or minimise the risk of injury to employees, damage to property and other assets.
- Build and sustain positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, to maintain networks, sustain trust and elevate the impact of workplace safety and wellbeing.

**Key Requirements**
- Tertiary qualification in Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum) and Return to Work Coordinator Certificate.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ practical experience in a similar role preferably gained from the Construction and/or Infrastructure sectors, having worked in a medium/large multi-divisional organisation.
- Experience working with (implementing & monitoring compliance) ISO9001 / 14001 /45001 management systems.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of contemporary WHS & IM systems (including injury, hazard and risk management), practices and legislative requirements.
- Experience in working for an FSC certified company highly desirable.
- Incident investigation training (ICAM or equivalent)
- Ability to build rapport, to develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders and employees.
- Excellent organisational and time and priority management skills in order to achieve set objectives within timeframes for self and others.
