Energy Locals is a fast-growing renewable energy retailer with big ambitions. We offer electricity to residents and businesses, partner with some major brands and we’re one of the biggest embedded network operators in Australia, providing apartment residents with solar, batteries, VPP (Virtual Power Plant), EV charging points, electricity metering, and hot water plants.

You’ll be part of a rapidly growing team who have worked tirelessly to challenge the traditional energy model to supply cheaper, cleaner, and fairer energy. Backed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, we’re investing in deploying renewable assets across our portfolio and beyond, and that’s where this role comes in.

**About the job**:
We’re looking for someone who is both commercially grounded and understands the technicalities of solar & storage, for a role that is pivotal to our growth and purpose. You’ll work hand in hand with the Chief Commercial Officer, the Go-To-Market team and Finance, to help us deploy many megawatts of managed assets across our existing apartment buildings and beyond, into the commercial and community sectors.

What we’re doing is new, so this role doesn’t come with an instruction manual - and that part will excite you. You’ll be the first person dedicated to this objective, responsible for end-to-end development of battery storage and related renewable project opportunities - meaning you’ll have experience taking new ideas to market, challenging the status quo to achieve commercially grounded outcomes, and building new business. On top of that, you’ll be able to demonstrate some technical know-how to deploy renewable energy solutions into the commercial sector.

**Responsibilities, requirements and skills**:

- Finalise the development of the customer proposition
- Ensure commercial objectives for both customers and investors are met
- Ensure technical requirements for battery storage, including appropriate metering solutions, are fit for purpose, clearly documented, and governed
- Assess all existing brownfield sites for the feasibility of distributed energy resources
- Identify new markets to expand the offering into
- Forge partnerships with commercial solar installers
- Produce & present proposal documents to prospective clients

**What we’re looking for**:

- Previous experience in renewable energy, solar PV, and battery storage projects at a commercial scale is required
- Strong knowledge of technical and product aspects of solar and battery storage solutions
- Track record of developing new markets to acquire new business
- Experience in different funding paths for renewable projects, including government backing, would be a bonus
