Maintain the integrity, care and handling of all surgical instruments, sterile stock, linen, supplies and equipment in line with competencies.

The Position- Maintains the integrity, care and handling of all surgical instruments, sterile stock, linen, supplies and equipment in line with competencies.- Initiates and maintains effective communication lines and teamwork/collaboration within the Operating Suite, CSD and the Hospital generally.- Maintains a safe clean environment using only authorised cleaning products and adhering to the principles of Infection Control.- Ensures inventory control of CSSD processed items is performed as per policy statement.- Checks relevant inventory to ensure adequate supplies are ordered, prepared and ready for use.- Ensures efficient use and maintenance of equipment and material resources in department and related areas.- Participates in Resource Roles within the unit.

You will have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate, liaise and work collaboratively with colleagues and other multidisciplinary team members. In addition, you will be able to effectively manage your time and prioritise workloads.

To succeed as a Sterilisation Technician you will hold a Certificate in Sterilisation at AQF3 or equivalent and hold previous relevant experience with the ability to teach within CSSD and related areas. An understanding of, and commitment to, quality improvement and current membership with SRACA will be highly regarded.
