Lightsource Services Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Telecommunications Linesworker to join our busy team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To be a member of a small construction team (generally 3 people) installing optical fibre and copper cables related to the NBN New Developments, HFC, FTTN and FTTC projects
- To dig by hand or (if qualified) with a mechanical excavator trenches and holes to lay new pipe, install new pits, replace existing pits and clear blockages in existing duct
- To rod and rope duct using cobra and white rods
- The hauling of all types of cables for routes and on estates, including tethers by hand and with the use of mechanical aids, such as winches and jinkers
- To install multi-port fibre connection in pits
- Install, maintain and repair conduits and underground cables
- To complete network performance testing
- To install equipment and end-user (customer premises)
- To investigate and correct faults in the optical fibre and copper networks
- Repairs to duct, cable and joints as required
- Ensure the standard of work in the field is of high quality and in accordance with work practices and standards required by the client, the company and service providers
- Represent Lightsource in relation to customer complaints management
- Ensure current work practices are implemented in the field and recommend changes to ensure that any activity is performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that all tasks undertaken are performed in a manner consistent with HSE policies and procedures of the company and the relevant state legislation
- Any other duties that are within the capability of the individual and that may be requested from time to time by their manager.
- To act in accordance with relevant Occupational Health & Safety Legislation and the company’s matrix of Occupational Health & Safety responsibilities
- To act in accordance with relevant Environmental Legislation and the company’s matrix of Environmental responsibilities

- Possess an expert technical knowledge of the relevant aspects of the various networks and the work practices required by the client
- Ability to resolve day-to-day operational issues and solve technical problems with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgement

- Must possess an aptitude for effective leadership with a commitment to positively influence others
- Must have well-developed interpersonal skills
- Possess suitable negotiation skills to ensure diplomatic resolution of field issues.

**Qualifications**
- Relevant technical qualifications - NBN Co. Enable; Construction White Card; Asbestos Awareness; Enter & Work in Confined Spaces; OR working towards obtaining these technical qualifications
- Current driver's Licence
- ACMA Open Cabler’s Licence, OR working towards obtaining these technical qualifications OR Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Construction/ Telecommunication industries or similar
- Certificate III in Telecommunications OR equivalent relevant experience

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
