**Food Services Assistant**

We are seeking a positive and hard-working Food Service Assistant to join our Patient Catering Services team at Waverley Private Hospital, VIC.

This is a **casual** position over a flexible seven-day roster that includes days, evenings and weekends.

**About the Role**

As a Food Service Assistant, you will assist the chef with food preparation and be responsible for the distribution and collection of all customer menus, food trays, beverages and basic food preparation. This can also include the preparation of special dietary needs for patients as directed by the hospital Dietician or relevant Manager.

You will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness within the department in line with required food safety, infection control and hospital standards, while offering high level of quality and service to patients and customers.

In this role you will report to the Catering Manager and work closely with a positive and respected team.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent attention to detail and work effectively in a team environment or independently as required. Your ability to prioritise tasks efficiently and your excellent time management skills will be key to succeeding in this fast paced environment.

You will also bring;
- Previous experience in a prep kitchen or hospital kitchen environment
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
- Compliance with HACCP, Food Safety and Workplace, Health and Safety
- Certificate II or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
- Have sound knowledge of allergy management practices

**Requirements**:
All new employees
- **must be up-to-date in their vaccination against COVID-19 **(**including the third dose, as required**) using a vaccine approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation_._
- _Must provide a _National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months

According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisations against infectious disease.
