Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson/technician

**The job**

EXIO is a new entity in the Elemera group, and so we are looking for a dynamic and motivated Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson/Technician to get in on the ground floor, help us build the business and take on the following responsibilities:

- Preparing and modifying drawings and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of our Senior Mechanical Engineer.
- Operating 3D CAD software.
- Mechanical assembly of products to a high standard of quality according to drawings, written and verbal instructions.
- Carrying out product mechanical and quality management inspections.
- Completing product quality management documentation.
- Compiling hazardous area equipment component certification and traceability documentation and information.
- Acting as a trade’s assistant to specialist hazardous area electrical technicians.
- Assisting with warehousing and inventory management including goods-in process to ensure components are available.
- Assisting with completed goods dispatch, including compiling dispatch documentation.
- Providing feedback to the Engineering and Management teams on product and process improvement opportunities, including design, drawing and assembly process improvements.
- General warehouse/workshop duties including housekeeping.

**About you**
- A safety focus - our business holds health and safety management system certification, but you'll need to turn up with the right attitude to safety.
- Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- 2 years experience in a similar role including:

- Hands on experience with product assembly manufacturing.
- Experience with hand, small air and power tools.
- Experience with hazardous area electrical equipment certification and quality management systems.
- Experience with 3D CAD software
- A positive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- An appreciation of the importance of efficiency in a manufacturing environment.
- A focus on quality and doing things right the first time.
- Be able to read/interpret drawings, bills of materials and written instructions.
- Driver's licence
- Forklift licence is an advantage (we can provide training if required)
- English language fluency

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
