**Role**:
The role of the Bendigo Cluster Coordinator may include but is not limited to:

- Building the capacity of staff within the Bendigo EAL Cluster schools to meet the needs of EAL students through the implementation of coaching with schools

**Responsibilities**:

- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of the EAL curriculum program within the school
- Support staff to build knowledge around the assessment and reporting resources
- Ensuring resources are accessible and available for teachers within the Bendigo EAL Cluster
- Provide professional learning to staff as requested by individual schools.

**Who May Apply**:
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

This position includes a $5000 one-off incentive to be paid over the contract period.for the applicant who is appointed to the role.

**VIT LANTITE**:
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.

**Location Profile**:
Bendigo is a city that is located in Central Victoria and is approximately 150 kms northwest of Melbourne. It is one of the fastest growing regional centres in Victoria.
The Bendigo EAL cluster includes both primary and secondary schools within Bendigo and also surrounding areas. There are approximately 15 schools in total with a varying number of EAL children enrolled at them. The opportunity for other schools to join the cluster does mean that the numbers could increase. THE SFO and SFOE of each of the school differs and so there is diversity within the cluster.
