Operationally manage and perform pre-analytical processes consistently and accurately, by maintaining focus and competence in the various areas within the clinical trials unit.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

- This is a modern laboratory with a positive culture and a high performing team, so qualities of resilience, well-developed communication skills and ability to contribute positively to a team environment are essential.
- Experience in pre-analytical processes, e.g., sorting, coding, data entry, aliquoting, parcel management, storage, retrieval of specimens etc, in a large and complex core laboratory unit.
- Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
- High level leadership skills and a demonstrated willingness to succeed.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to focus in a busy, complex environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Highly developed customer focus with experience dealing with a variety of people and a high level of awareness of impact of the individual on the overall customer experience.
- Understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
- Awareness of the human resource management policies applicable to contemporary workplaces.

Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements
- Nil mandatory qualifications are required for this role although a Certificate IV Pathology (or similar) or ability to gain this qualification is desirable.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements
- It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
- Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
