**Experienced Saxophone Specialist Teacher**

**About the Role**

Our music tuition program at Tintern Grammar continues to expand, and this has necessitated the addition of an extra Saxophone teacher to join our instrumental staff. Commencing Term 3, 2023 Tintern Grammar is seeking an experienced, energised and enthusiastic teacher specialising in Saxophone to join us with an initial load of 3.5 - 4 hours of teaching. The successful applicant is expected to be organised, to make a positive contribution to the vibrant musical life of the school and work co-operatively as a member of our dynamic music teaching team. They will teach students on an individual and group basis, with the possibility of leading a Saxophone Ensemble or Junior Band, and must be able to relate to students across a range of ages in both the Primary and Secondary sections of the school. This load should increase with time.

**About You**

Applicants will be required to:

- Teach Saxophone on an individual and shared basis
- Keep accurate attendance rolls
- Prepare students for performances and examinations in accordance with both AMEB and VCE syllabi
- Enthuse and encourage students to participate in co-curricular music ensembles
- Communicate regularly with parents and prepare progressive reports to parents throughout the semester
- Assist with tutorials for large ensembles from time to time as required by the Director of Music or Head of Instrumental Performance
- Assist with preparation and presentation of events such as a Woodwind Concert, the Annual Music Concert, Small Ensembles Concert, Music Camp, Celebration Evening, and other performances as required
- Undertake other duties as determined by the Director of Music
