**About the role**

We’re seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our Capital Battens Plant in Fyshwick, ACT. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems within the Fyshwick Plant are maintained, to identify any potential preventative maintenance requirements and to participate in continuous improvement activities and projects.**Duties include but are not limited to***
- Examine faulty machinery and equipment for defects;
- Ensure safe working conditions and compliance to all WHS policies and procedures;
- Use various hand tools to fit and assemble parts, which require knowledge of principles of mechanics;
- Ensure that plant mechanical assets are fully maintained to promote efficient operation of equipment;
- Complete planned, unplanned and requested maintenance tasks effectively;
- Perform fault-finding analysis and diagnosis of maintenance issues and undertake problem solving to resolve/repair issues to minimise impact on production;
- Liaise with management, supervisors, maintenance team and operators to resolve breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime; and
- Conduct proactive breakdown analysis and identify problem areas of plant.
- Ensure that all assigned duties and quality of work is in accordance with industry standards, legislation, codes of practice and company procedures and that documentation is completed and signed.

**Success Requirements***
- Mechanical Fitting Trade qualification.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, welding and fabrication
- Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and understanding of PLC operation. (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specification.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong time management, administration and organisational skills.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority to minimise downtime.
