Queensland Cotton (QC) is part of Olam Agri and our purpose is to Proudly Transform Food, Feed and Fibre, for a more sustainable future. QC has been supporting Australian agriculture for 100 years and operates in multiple products including cotton, cottonseed, chickpeas, mung beans and sorghum. Our Olam Agri colleagues across 30 plus countries, handle dozens of other commodities too.

It's been over 10 years since this role has been available. If you have experience in a commercial cotton role and sophisticated knowledge of Australian Cotton qualities we'd love to hear from you.

Some areas of responsibility include:

- ** Export Sales Strategy** - contribute trading and market views and insights for cotton lint sales strategy, basis valuation and export sales profile planning. Monitor inventory flows for warehouse capacity planning.
- ** Quality Allocations**:

- Manage execution of bale and quality allocations; build and leverage in-depth knowledge of destination markets and customer quality paraments, and knowledge of ICA and CIQ schedules to manage risk exposures to quality claims.
- ** Quality Claim Negotiation**:

- Be the primary point of contact for all issues impacting customers and issues relating to quality of cotton shipments
- ** Stakeholder Relationships**:

- establish and nurture relationships with export market agents and customers, to develop status as the preferred supplier.
- ** Counterparty Management**:

- Oversee the management of counterparty risk, relating to all export customers to ensure implied business risk exposure is mínimal.

**Who we seek**

You're experienced in the cotton industry with over 10 years experience in commercial roles in the Cotton industry. You have deep connections with export agents, and quality inspection bodies and you're accustomed to handling quality claims

You will most certainly be grounded, inclusive, adaptable to change & enjoy challenges. You are also passionate, hard working, able to synthesize information from different sources to form a view of the market and pride yourself on operational excellence. You will know your way around Excel and comfortable with data analysis, you have strong intuitive problem solving skills, strategic thinking capability and high levels of attention to detail. A solid understanding of SAP will be highly regarded.
