**About the role**
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our school community teaching the following Subjects to Year 7 - 10:

- **English**:

- **Religion**

As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies, documents and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Support the liturgical and prayer life of the school
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

- Strong literacy, numeracy, digital literacy practices and competency in integrating digital technology into a contemporary learning environment
- A clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum as well as the Senior Religion syllabuses
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- An ability to attend in detail to innovative and creative practices
- An ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students, and parents/carers
- Proven organisational skills
- Willingness to contribute to the school community through involvement in co-curricular activities
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement

At BCE our teachers are required to:

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

**_Do I have to be Catholic?_**
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.

Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
