About the Branch
The Commercial, Property & Technology (CP&T) Branch advises government clients in relation to a wide range of transactions with the private sector and other government agencies. Many of these contractual arrangements involve substantial financial commitments by government, and the provision of significant new public infrastructure or services to clients. The branch also offers government a full service conveyancing practice, which supports high volume programs involving thousands of individual transactions, requiring excellent systems, reporting and project management.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Conveyancing Assistant to join our Property Team in the CP&T Branch. The Property Team handles government land and property transactions involving both Crown and freehold land, including acquisitions and disposals of land, plans of subdivision, mortgages of land, creations of easement and leasing transactions. Within this role you will provide administrative support duties for a busy and supportive team; this includes undertaking and managing through to completion a wide range of conveyancing transactions via PEXA and SPEAR, and as required, provide conveyancing advice to government clients.
Key responsibilities
- Provide conveyancing services to government clients using digital platforms such as PEXA and SPEAR
- Undertake and manage to through completion conveyancing transactions such as purchase, sale and mortgages of land, re-financing arrangements, land subdivisions, easement creation, title dispositions, caveat lodging and removal files
- Assist with native title extinguishment assessments in relation to landInterpret and analyse property documents
- Provide support to other conveyancing and property team members and colleagues from other Branches in relation to property issues as required

Skills and experience
- Prior administrative support experience, preferably working in a legal office environment
- Experience working with PEXA and SPEAR electronic conveyancing and lodging platforms
- The ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with stakeholders of all levels
- Self-starter who takes initiative and has the ability to operate autonomously and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail with a commitment to service excellence
