Day to day you’ll be responsible for managing, querying and analyzing data to support the management and reporting of Market Risk for the Bank (both ING Bank Australia and ING Bank Sydney branch). This includes interest rate risk in the banking book, funding and liquidity risk.

You’ll be at home in this role utilising your specialist knowledge (big data, database structures and query languages) as well as knowledge of retail banking and risk management to support Market Risk’s automation and data governance initiatives.

**What are you going to do? You will be**
- Contributing to the maintenance of a superior Market Risk Management framework (including understanding and monitoring risk appetite) that meets the requirements of APRA, Basel, ING Bank and, to the extent relevant, the Dutch and European regulators
- Supporting the end-to-end procedures for reporting risk exposures; automating, enhancing and implementing new controls, processes and automation measures while analysing and commenting on this reporting as an SME
- Managing the preparation, extraction, collation and analysis of data used to run quantitative models and enable informed analysis of all market risk classes arising from the Bank's deposit-taking, retail and commercial lending and wholesale market activities
- Ensuring clear and concise checks and balances are undertaken to ensure consistency and accuracy of data used in critical reports. Able to tie base numbers back to core systems and the general ledger (where relevant). Comprehensive understanding and documentation outlining all aspects of processes and controls
- Translating complex quantitative market risk requirements and concepts into simple yet effective -processes
- Ensuring that data inputs into reporting processes are of a high quality and have comprehensive reconciliation and other controls in place.

**What are we looking for? Someone who has**
- Experience in data querying, coding, management and governance as well as a working knowledge of retail banking liquidity and interest rate risk, valuation of financial instruments and banking regulations
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as SQL/ VBA/ SAS/ Python
- or other big data and ETL experience
- Minimum 3 years relevant data management experience, preferably within the banking industry. Exposure to APRA standards APS117 and APS210 would he highly regarded
- The ability to be a strong team player; is self-motivated and able to work autonomously who will ask questions and who possesses high levels of personal integrity and respect for confidentiality
