Location: Brisbane, Canberra

The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia’s national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia. We are a full member of the National Intelligence Community, an Attorney General’s Portfolio agency, and a member of the Five Eyes Law Enforcement Group.

The ACIC is at the forefront of tackling serious and organised crime targeting Australia, both within our borders and offshore. Our staff operate against a pervasive, transnational and globalised criminal threat, and work hard to realise an Australia hostile to criminal exploitation. As a small agency that makes a real impact on serious and organised crime, we need talented and dedicated people who are intelligent, highly capable and seeking to make a difference to the lives of all Australians.

**About the branch**
Executive Branch leads the development of ACIC policy and strategy while delivering high-quality stakeholder engagement, governance, reporting and communication services.

The branch serves as an interface between the ACIC’s intelligence collection capabilities and the development of whole-of-government strategies, policies and initiatives. It has a high level of engagement with the agency’s external stakeholders as well as providing ministerial and board liaison and support, including secretariat support for external and internal governance committees.

Executive Branch coordinates the agency’s media response, manages our online channels, and provides communication and graphic design support. It also ensures the ACIC operates effectively to deliver on its purpose and communicate its achievements through strategic planning and performance reporting.

**About the role**
The Governance Adviser is responsible for co-ordinating support and advice to the internal and external committees, and the operational working groups that sit under the external committees.

The Governance Adviser works in a small team responsible for co-ordinating meetings, preparing and co-ordinating papers, taking minutes and managing action items. The role also supports the strategic co-ordination of the committees and working groups, including identifying opportunities to support collaboration and strengthen engagement across the operations, through engagement with partner agencies.

- Has the ability to support the development and maintenance of internal and external stakeholder networks, including building and sustaining positive relationships to leverage and progress the work of the section and the agency.
- Demonstrates versatile written skills including the ability to draft concise correspondence to internal and external stakeholders, prepare strategic documentation, briefing material and talking points. A high attention to detail is critical.
- Demonstrates an ability to work effectively in a team, contributes to shared outcomes, implements solutions to problems and supports others.

**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS, unless the agency head has agreed otherwise, in writing. For further information, contact the Recruitment Team.
- The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold, the required security clearance for this role. All ACIC employees are required to hold a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, unless otherwise specified.
