**About this opportunity**

As a passionate and experienced Catering Assistant, you will work as a part-time member of our wider kitchen team at our Christie Downs site, being responsible for handling, preparing and storing food. You will show compliance and knowledge of food safety standards, whilst preparing meals for our residents, ensuring strict dietary needs are met.
- **_Must be willing to work Fridays, rotating weekends and public holidays._**

**Duties**
- Food preparation
- Ensure written protocols are followed for special dietary needs
- Ensure the work environment is clean and safe and resident's needs are met
- Promote a harmonious work environment
- Ensure legislative requirements governing food services are met
- Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures
- Maintain knowledge of food safety requirements
- Provide friendly and enthusiastic customer service

**Skills & Experience**
- Certificate II or III in Catering Operations or similar
- Proven knowledge of Food Safety Standards
- Knowledge of safe and correct food handling, preparation and storage
- Cook / Chef Experience (_highly desirable)_
- Aged Care Experience (_highly desirable_)
- Knowledge and experience using commercial kitchen equipment
- A sensitive and empathetic approach to residents and visitors
- Previous experience in a food handling role and/or cafe service
- Sound commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Effective time management skills.
- A current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply)
- Covid and seasonal influenza vaccination status to be provided
