**The Opportunity**

Created due to the growth of the business, investment into increasing production and its customers demand for their products, we have a mechanical drafter/draftsman opportunity available to be based at our client's **Caboolture facility**. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working with an existing and thriving team of industry leading engineers.

**What you'll be responsible for**
- Lead and manage assigned projects and initiatives supporting sawmilling, materials handling, further processing and dispatch of timber products, supporting projects from concept through to implementation
- Creating 3D models, 2D technical drawings & workshop drawings for equipment fabrication and installation.
- Work with internal teams, consultants and external equipment suppliers to integrate new equipment with existing plant and equipment.
- Work on site with contractors and tradesmen to ensure installations are implemented according to approved designs
- Assist in the development of engineered solutions to deliver lower operating costs, lower maintenance costs, improved equipment reliability, with optimum product quality.
- Ensure that designs meet technical and safety requirements, are within our clients and Australian standards and that risks are controlled and communicated.

**What you'll bring**
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical drafting and 5+ years exposure in mechanical design.
- Proven experience with end-to-end project delivery, from conception to completion, in a manufacturing, materials handling or heavy industrial setting.
- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD and Inventor as well as experience creating 3D models and scans.
- Ability to work independently/autonomously as well as in a team environment.
- Prior knowledge of the timber industry and mechanical trade backgrounds are a plus.
- Experience with the development and implementation of Drawing Management Systems is also favourable
