**About the role**

We are looking for a Superintendent to join our salt and gypsum operations to lead a strong team of individuals across our, processing, laboratory, general works, salt quality and gypsum operational teams. The principle function of this role is to manage and improve all technical aspects of growth, washing and quality assurance methods coupled with the expansion across all sites.

Reporting to the Manager Operations Lake MacLeod, you daily remit will include but not be limited to:

- Manage the site general works team responsible for all site road maintenance and borrow pits
- Manage the brine supply, crystalliser, wash plant and laboratory operations
- Ensure lab analysis meets the “Methods for Salt Analysis Standards” and ship certificates are issued promptly and accurately
- Implement regular communication processes with site teams on project progress, collecting issues and ideas as they arise
- Fostering a culture of improvement as well as employee accountability
- Ensure compliance to ISO9001, Kosher and Halaal Certification
- Lead the process design aspects of improvement/expansion works, ensuring that operations agree with the designs being developed to DSL standards
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental targets are achieved
- Manage costs within the process area to ensure budget targets are met and cost saving initiatives are identified and implemented.
- Develop operational plan and budget for the process group and produce reports on projects and investigations

**About you**

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

- Previous experience leading a dynamic team within the processing or mining industry
- Demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture
- Knowledge of sampling, quality control and laboratory systems and processes
- Knowledge of ISO9001, Halaal and Kosher Certification requirements
- Qualification in chemistry, metallurgy, process engineering or related discipline seen as advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record in creating and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Manual C Class Driver’s License

Dampier Salt Limited (DSL), located in Western Australia and comprising three solar operations - Dampier, Port Hedland and Lake MacLeod - is the world’s largest exporter of seaborne salt, with capacity to produce approximately 10.3 million tonnes every year.

At our Lake MacLeod operations, we also mine and export gypsum to customers in Australia and Southeast Asia.
