**About Us**

The RACP BPT2 year is a 12-month training program that will expose its participants to critical areas of neonatal and paediatric medicine. The appointment (position) involves:

- 6 months rotation in a tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care unit (RWH/MCH/MHW)
- 6 months of other rotations (comprising a mix of specialty medical units and general paediatrics) (MCH, RCH, Northern, Casey, Austin, and Geelong - may include additional sites in 2024)

Please note that in 2024, there will be no positions without a neonatal rotation.

**About the Role**

At the successful completion of this 12-month program, trainees will be considered for a further 12 months as a first year Registrar usually with general paediatric and emergency rotations in a tertiary paediatric centre and a secondment within Melbourne. This second 12-month period is managed by the Royal Children's Hospital following confirmation of suitability to progress by the VBPTC. **About You**

Applications are invited from Medical Practitioners with at least 12 months paediatric experience following the intern year incorporating no more than 6 months neonatal medicine, and ideally in a RACP Level 3 paediatric centre, who wish to undertake Paediatric Physician Training. Successful applicants must demonstrate their potential for progressing through the Paediatric training program and for developing as a Consultant Paediatrician. They must also demonstrate an ability to practice competently at a high clinical standard.

- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
- Working with Children's Certificate
