Woollahra Council has an exciting opportunity available for a qualified and experienced Tree Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the maintenance and enhancement of public trees in the Woollahra area.

***
As the Coordinator Tree Maintenance, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of Council’s public tree management strategies to ensure our preservation of the community’s tree assets.

***
Reporting directly to the Manager Open Space and Trees, your duties will include coordinating tree maintenance and replacement programs, ensuring the maintenance of Council’s Tree Asset Register, providing technical advice and strategies and reporting to Council, internal staff and the community regarding public trees. You will have exceptional communication and leadership skills in order to successfully manage a team of Technical Officers and Arborists.

**Essential Criteria**

- **Diploma of Arboriculture - AQF Level 5 or Equivalent****:

- **Minimum five years arboriculture management experience in a Council, public garden, or an arboriculture company****:

- **Experience in establishing systems and procedures for improved tree inspection and assessment, tree protection and renewal, maintenance standards, service levels and urban tree canopy improvement****:

- **Experience in developing and implementing risk management systems to proactively manage the inherent risks of ageing and developing public tree assets****:

- **High level understanding of best practice principles of urban tree management and strategy development****:

- **Qualifications and experience in industry recognised risk assessment methodologies, such as QTRA, TRAQ, etc****:

- **High level communication, negotiation, customer service and people management skills****:

- **High level policy development and report writing skills****:

- **Clear and concise written and verbal communication and an ability to relate to all levels of staff and community members****:

- **To have the ability to research and investigate complex matters and be able to convey information and recommendations to others.****:

- **High level computer literacy including finance management and customer service information systems.***

- **Knowledge and experience of Urban Forest Strategies****:

- **Experience in practical management of contractors to deliver desired outcomes meeting arboricultural quality and WHS standards***
