**Position Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician (OL)**

**Location: Ballarat, Ballarat & Central Highlands VIC**

**Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time**

**Hours: 38 hours per week**

**Salary: $120,000 per year + superannuation**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Providing field-based service support for the company's Tower crane
- Making sound commercial and technical decisions, performing swift and efficient maintenance and service
- Assisting in the erection and dismantling of the GTK 1100 Crane as per manufacturer's specifications.
- Identifying necessary service parts and special components, conducting servicing and warranty inspections,
- Accurately diagnosing and rectifying electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
- Implementing product improvements as instructed by the factory and maintaining company and health & safety standards.
- Inspecting equipment, documenting findings, and communicating any equipment deficiencies promptly.
- Testing and inspecting all equipment before use to ensure quality, safety, and readiness, and accurately document completed maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Conducting field repairs on cranes and related equipment as needed, to ensure safe, professional operation and transportation of the crane
- Preparing drawings, plans, and designs for mechanical engineering work under the guidance of engineers, assist in the design of mechanical equipment, and select appropriate tools and equipment for projects.
- Assembling and installing mechanical assemblies and systems, estimating material costs and machine requirements, performing and directing tests, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing diagrams.
- Supervising the inspection and maintenance of machines and ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and contract provisions
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Expertise in selecting tools and equipment.
- Strong abilities in maintaining and fixing equipment.
- Analytical skills for data collection and analysis.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is ideal but is not required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or a related industry.
