**Bowel Cancer Coordinator - Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre**
**0.40 FTE 0900-1700, Monday-Thursday (Flexible to role); for maternity leave backfill**

**About the role**

**Key Responsibilities **of the Bowel Cancer Coordinator is to**:

- Triage patient referrals to ensure prompt clinical review of potential colorectal (CR) cancer patients
- Coordinate appropriate clinician-lead workup of new colorectal cancer diagnoses
- Ensure complete and appropriate imaging for patients prior to being seen in specialist clinics
- Attend the colorectal Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Meetings (8am Monday fortnightly)
- Attend BHS Colorectal Clinic (Monday mornings) to see patients with clinicians and provide information and support following their initial consultation
- Provide an advisory support service for patients with colorectal cancer and their relatives in core working hours
- Meet with patients perioperatively and provide support and education
- Liaise with surgeons, registrars, bookings nurses and theatre to achieve appropriate operative scheduling

**The Bowel Cancer Coordinator will have strong relationships with**:

- Clinicians involved in the patient care pathway
- Patients, their families, carers & support services

The BRICC is located in the Grampians Health Ballarat campus. BRICC is the principal referral site for cancer patients in the region, which extends from Bacchus Marsh on the outskirts of Melbourne, to the South Australian border, an area of 48,000 square kilometres.

Cancer Services at Grampians Health is a multi-site and multi-modality oncology service. Our Network of services extends from Ballarat to Stawell, Horsham and Edenhope, and we provide outreach services also to Maryborough. Our clinical service showcases state-of-the-art radiotherapy and chemotherapy, comprehensive allied health and supportive care, research and clinical trials to a vibrant Wellness Centre offering a full suite of complementary therapies.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified senior registered nurses with oncology experience to provide maternity leave backfill for the Bowel Cancer Australia funded 'Bowel Cancer Coordinator' post, hosted within the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre.
